Will You be my Valentine? ;-D

(this blog is for my good friends that are not on Facebook, who also like reading the writings of others...or so you say. ha ha. If you enjoy it, great ...if not, ignore, ;-D either way just know that I love ya and wish you the greatest of everyday of life!)

I love Valentine's Day!! ;-D (as many of you know....Valentines Day originated from the Christian Priest, St. Valentine, a Roman who was killed for refusing to give up Christianity. He died on February 14, 269 A.D.)
Legend also says that St. Valentine left a farewell note for the jailer's daughter, whom he loved as a friend and signed it "From Your Valentine". Saint Valentine served as a priest at the temple during the reign of Emperor Claudius, who hated Christians. Claudius had Priest Valentine jailed, beaten, beheaded for defying him... because he performed 'weddings'ceremonials...while Claudius wanted MEN/warriors free from emotions/love as soldiers.
Later, in 496 A.D. Pope Gelasius set aside February 14 to honour St. Valentine-the Christian Saint..
The story is touching ... yet, today, as Christians KNOW... Jesus Christ was actually the First Valentine...as He GAVE his life/heart on Calvary.. (the Crimson Rose) for US to live with blessings here/now and throughout eternity. LOVE was born at CALVARY..and that LOVE is our greatest of gifts in life....so celebrate your blessings... with joy, share it and have a very Happy Valentine's Day...everyday!
